ABSTRACT. A part of material on dance flies of the genus Empis Linnaeus (Diptera: Empididae) from the collection taken by A.P. Fedtschenko in Middle Asia (1869–1871) was examined. A new species of the E. negrobovi species group is described: E. jiptykiensis sp.n. (Kyrgyzstan). The female of E. rohdendorfi Shamshev, 2001 (Uzbekistan) is described for the first time.
