ABSTRACT. A redescription is presented of the poorly known South African spider, Voraptus affinis Lessert, 1925, based on the female holotype specimen. Evaluation of its somatic and epigynal morphology indicates that the genus is currently misplaced in Miturgidae, and Voraptus Simon, 1898 is hereby transferred back to Pisauridae, wherein it was traditionally placed. A relationship to the Afrotropical genera Cispius Simon, 1898 and Charminus Thorell, 1899 is proposed.
