ABSTRACT. The large Neotropical millipede genus Platydesmus Lucas, 1843 presently contains 29 species that range from northern Mexico (Nuevo León) in the north to Panama in the south. Five species, including P. grayi sp.n., occur in Costa Rica, all being keyed and all likely to be narrowly endemic to the country.
