ABSTRACT. 49 Nematoda worm genera, 46 Collembola species and 34 large invertebrate species from 16 families are registered in mixed grass communities near the hydrogen sulfide springs Iska-Shor brook in Adak Nature Reserve, Komi Republic, Russia. The taxonomic diversity of nematodes and collembolans was found to be similar to those in coastal ecosystems, and corresponded with previous data on closely related river and sea floodplain communities. However, the population structure of springtails studied is different to that of the nematode and mesofauna.

KEY WORDS: Nematoda, Collembola, Lumbricidae, Lithobiidae, Coleoptera, diversity, coastal habitats, northern taiga.
