ABSTRACT. Based on the material collected from tamarisk communities in Iran, a new species Bracon (Ophthalmobracon) arcadii Samartsev, sp.n., is described and illustrated; this species was previously recorded as a parasitoid of the gelechiid moth Amblypalpis tamaricella Danilevsky, 1955 from Uzbekistan. Bracon (O.) lissothorax Tobias, 1967 is excluded from the fauna of Iran. A key to all four species of the subgenus Ophthalmobracon known from the Irano-Turanian region is provided.

KEY WORDS: Tamarix, parasitoid, Gelechiidae, Amblypalpis tamaricella.
