ABSTRACT. In Japan eight species of dolichoderine ants have been known, of which two are very recently introduced tramp species. Descriptions/diagnoses of the queen and male are given for each of these species. Keys to genera and species are provided for the Japanese dolichoderines. Reproductives (winged ants) of Dolichoderus sibiricus (males only) and two Technomyrmex species (queens and males) are frequently attracted to light, while those of other genera have not yet been collected with light traps.
KEY WORDS: key to species, introduced species, light trap, mating season.
